ZoomInfo lists Cory Smith as its President and Chief Marketing Officer²¹. The theblackbow.com domain dates from May 2008⁷.

Its policies give 3593 Medina Road, Suite 159, Medina, Ohio, for returns and mail^8,17, the same address as its BBB profile²⁰. It says it has over 100,000 items on the site¹ and also sells through Amazon and Target^5,22.

Returns & exchanges

The returns page and the shipping policy accept returns and exchanges up to 30 days after shipment, or until January 15 for holiday orders^4,13; the refund policy instead gives 30 days after you receive the item⁸. Items must be new, unworn and unaltered⁴, and used, worn, custom and engraved items can’t be returned⁴. Refunds go back to your original payment — within 4–6 business days of receipt on the returns page, within 10 business days in the refund policy^4,8 — and original shipping isn’t refunded⁴. After 30 days a return needs authorization, and a 20% restocking fee may be deducted⁴.

Return shipping is free only if you bought REDO, a return-protection add-on charged per order and not refundable once the order ships; otherwise you pay to send it back⁴, and the store suggests insuring a valuable return yourself⁴. Watches must come back new and unused within 30 days; after that they go to the manufacturer’s service center⁴. A gift is refunded to the purchaser, or you can take a virtual gift card⁴.

US ground shipping is free over $59 and takes 8 to 10 business days; below that it costs $4.95^1,14. Priority, express and overnight options cost $8.99 to $39.99¹⁴, and orders placed before 2pm Eastern on weekdays ship the same day¹⁴. Black Bow also ships abroad, with prices in US dollars¹⁴.

Most orders over $200 need a signature on delivery¹⁴. We found no mention of insurance for orders on their way to you^1,10,14, and nothing on what happens if a parcel is lost or stolen^4,8,13,14; the store says it will tell you if it can’t ship on time¹⁴.

Warranty & care

The returns page says used, worn, custom and engraved items — which can’t be returned — are covered against manufacturing defects for 30 days after the ship date⁴; we found no longer free warranty on jewelry^{1,4,6,13,14,15}. For anything longer, Black Bow sells Extend protection plans, which you can buy within about 20 days of ordering; they cover workmanship defects, refinishing and polishing, rhodium re-plating and ring sizing after 90 days, but not keychains, pins, bracelet beads or money clips⁵. We found no free cleaning, repair or resizing service^{1,4,6,8,13,14,15}; its care guide explains how to clean each material at home¹⁵. Watches carry their makers’ warranties — a limited lifetime warranty on one Charles Hubert pocket watch, for example²⁴.

Black Bow says it sells sterling silver, 10K, 14K and 18K gold, natural and lab-created diamonds, and officially licensed collegiate, MLB and NHL jewelry⁶. Its product pages are specific: ‘Crafted from solid 14 karat yellow gold’ with the average weight in grams², ‘Rhodium Plated Sterling Silver’³, ‘1/20 14K Gold Filled’ chains with gold bonded to brass¹, and ‘Stainless Steel & Gold Tone Plated’²⁵. The gold pages we checked give the karat but no alloy², and no plating thickness is given^3,9,19,25.

Stones are labeled plainly. A tennis bracelet is described as 31 ‘lab-grown aka lab-created’ baguette diamonds, VS clarity, G-H color, 6 1/5 carats in total, at $6,221.98 to $6,242.98⁹; smaller diamond pieces in the feed give total carat weight in the title and color and clarity in their tags²⁶. We found no lab reports mentioned^6,9,26. Sapphires are ‘lab-created’ and ‘synthetic’¹⁹, and its care guide notes that most freshwater and Akoya cultured pearls are bleached¹⁵. Licensed MLB pieces are sold as ‘officially licensed’, and some pieces are made in the USA^2,3.

The first 2,000 products in its feed include necklaces, pendants, earrings, chains, rings and bracelets, Charles Hubert watches and licensed MLB and NHL pieces²⁶, priced from under $10 to over $6,000²⁶. We found no sourcing policy, such as conflict-free diamonds or recycled metals^1,6,9,15.
