Returns, refunds & cancellations
You have 30 days from the day your order ships, and US returns get a free UPS label5. Once the return is approved, you have 7 days to send it5; it must be unworn, with all paperwork5, and a missing diamond certificate costs $1005. Inspection takes up to 7 business days, and a card refund can take up to one billing cycle to show5.
What you get back depends on what you bought. Catalog pieces and Design Your Ring orders are refunded in full to your original payment method5. High Jewelry, special orders and Truly Custom pieces are refunded only as store credit — the product page says so5,17 — and that credit can fund one re-design, which is then final sale5. Pieces altered by another jeweler can’t be returned5. The Terms also let the company flag customers who return most of what they buy as ‘Returns Abusers’ and close their accounts, and they don’t allow buying several items to keep one7.
Made-to-order items can be cancelled within 24 hours of ordering; after payment is processed nothing can be changed1.
Check the product page before you buy: Grown Brilliance marks the pieces it refunds only as store credit5,17. Orders paid partly with a third-party cash-back offer and gift-card payments also come back as credit4,5.

Shipping & delivery
Most pieces are made to order and take about three weeks before they ship; in-stock items leave in one to six business days9. The engagement ring we looked at on October 29 showed an estimated ship date of November 2518. US orders then go free by UPS 2nd Day Air, or Next Day Air for a fee9. Parcels are insured, need a signature and arrive in a plain box1,7,9; PO boxes aren’t accepted and the address can’t be changed after you order9.
One clause is worth knowing: the shipping policy says risk of loss passes to you when the parcel is handed to the carrier, and it doesn’t describe what happens if a parcel goes missing9. International orders to 16 countries ship free with duties paid by the store9.
All details we checked

Lifetime warranty, repairs & resizing
Every piece has a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship, for the original buyer6. To claim, you email photos or a video and Grown Brilliance decides whether it’s a defect; if it is, it pays shipping both ways6.
The warranty doesn’t cover wear and tear, impact damage, lost center stones, loss or theft6, and prongs worn thin by normal wear aren’t a defect even if a stone falls out6. Prong tightening, re-polishing, rhodium re-plating and cleaning are paid repairs6, and work by another jeweler voids the warranty6. An optional paid Extend plan covers accidental damage and lost stones6.
Your first resize is free within 30 days of shipping on US orders; after that it’s paid, and no ring is resized more than twice6. Eternity rings are the exception: the Warranty page says they’re remade once in the right size within 30 days, while the FAQ says they can’t be resized1,6.

What Grown Brilliance sells & what it costs
Grown Brilliance sells lab-grown diamonds only — no mined stones1 — set in 14k gold, 18k gold or platinum; white gold is rhodium-plated1. Every center stone bought through Design Your Ring, and any center stone or matched pair of 3/4 carat or more, comes with an IGI or GIA report1, mostly IGI19. Diamonds of 0.70 carat and up are laser-inscribed, and lab-diamond pieces are stamped ‘LGD’1. Product names state the diamond color and clarity20.
The pieces we checked: an IGI-certified 5-carat cushion engagement ring with side stones for $7,29518, and huggie hoops, an eternity band and a signet ring between $1,395 and $2,59520. You can also buy loose diamonds and custom designs1,17. No appraisal is mentioned on the pages we read1,5,6,18.
On sourcing, the brand says its diamonds are conflict-free and that it uses 96% recycled gold, aiming for 100% ‘by 2025’2; it also calls itself carbon neutral, citing a 2023 sustainability report2. These are the company’s own statements, not third-party certifications.
