US buyers order from its US store, us.tateossian.com, priced in dollars and shipping from a US warehouse^8,9,10. Orders go by express courier with a signature¹¹, checkout runs on Shopify with cards, PayPal and Klarna^8,9,12, and its UK site gives every piece a 1-year warranty¹³. It scores low because you have 14 days from delivery to ask for a return³; the original delivery charge and a $2.99 returns fee are deducted from the refund⁴, although another line promises a prepaid label³; bespoke, engraved and special-order pieces and earrings can’t be returned³; shipping insurance and lost parcels aren’t addressed^3,4,9,10,11; and Google shows 3.4 stars for its Trustpilot page, from 19 reviews¹⁴.

Who is behind Tateossian

Tateossian’s UK site names the company as Tateossian Limited, registered in England and Wales under number 02561039⁵, at the Fulham Business Exchange in London²⁹; the US store’s pages name no company^{3,8,9,11,12,15}, and its terms of service say the site is operated by Tateossian but that ‘we’, ‘us’ and ‘our’ refer to ‘Omnes’¹². The about page says Robert Tateossian, a former City financier, founded the brand in London in 1990¹, was born in Kuwait to Lebanese-Palestinian-Armenian parents¹ and is known as the ‘King of Cufflinks’¹. The company also owns Thompson of London⁵. The tateossian.com domain dates from 1998³⁰.

Its flagship store is at 27 Conduit Street in Mayfair^6,27, and it offers private appointments at its London showroom, at home or by video call³¹. Its jewelry is sold by department stores in over 80 countries⁷, and Positive Luxury lists it as Butterfly Mark certified³².

How to reach Tateossian

The US store’s contact page gives customer service on +1 855 998 1008 in the US and +44 (0) 800 021 1008 in the UK, Monday to Friday 9.30am–6.30pm GMT¹⁵, and the email [email protected], answered within 24 business hours¹⁵; returns go through [email protected]³. The description of its US FAQ page in Google offers a live chat³⁴, but we found no chat widget in the code of its home or contact pages^9,15.

Returns & exchanges

The US refund policy and returns page give you 14 days from delivery to ask for a return, ‘for all countries’, and then 14 more days to send it back^3,4; the returns page’s own description says 28 days⁴. The refund policy tells you to email aftersales for a return authorisation number and a prepaid label³, while the returns page says the easiest way is to log in to your account⁴. One label is issued per order³.

Return shipping is yours to pay: the policy says the cost of a label Tateossian provides comes off the refund³, and the returns page deducts the original delivery charge plus a returns fee — for a US order, $10.99 + $2.99 = $13.98⁴. The original shipping isn’t refunded either⁴, and loss or damage on the way back is the carrier’s responsibility³. Bespoke pieces, engraving, earrings and special orders can’t be returned or exchanged³. The refund policy promises to process a refund within 72 hours of receipt³; the returns page allows up to 10–14 working days in the warehouse plus 7–10 working days to reach you⁴. Pieces bought from another retailer go back to that retailer³.

Shipping & delivery

US orders go by FedEx in 3–5 working days for $10.99^4,10, free on orders over $450^9,11; stock items usually ship within 3 business days¹⁰. Every order goes by express courier and needs a signature on delivery¹¹, and it doesn’t ship to PO boxes¹¹.

The delivery page says US orders ship from its US warehouse, so you pay no tariffs or import duties, and that the few UK-only items are routed through that warehouse¹⁰. Its shipping policy, though, still says orders ship from the UK and that buyers outside the UK and EU pay import tax and duties to the courier¹¹. We found no mention of shipping insurance^3,4,9,10,11 and nothing on what happens to a lost parcel^10,11; for a delayed order, it tells you to contact customer service or the courier¹⁰.

Warranty & care

The US store’s pages we read don’t mention a warranty^{3,4,8,9,10,11,12,15}. Its UK site says every piece has a 1-year warranty from the date of delivery that doesn’t cover accidental damage, normal wear and tear, misuse, or items bought in sample sales^13,27, and that you pay any shipping for a warranty claim¹³. We found no free cleaning, repair or resizing service^{3,4,10,13,16,17,18,20,21,22,23,24,25,26,27,28}; engraving and gift wrapping are complimentary⁹.

What Tateossian sells & what it costs

Tateossian says its pieces are made of sterling silver and base metals finished with 18k gold, rose gold and rhodium plating²⁷, and that its sterling silver is 100% recycled¹⁶. The product pages we read, on its UK site, name the metal — ’18K rose gold’, ‘Silver with Rhodium Plating’ — but give no gold alloy or plating thickness^{17,18,20,21,22,23,24,25,26,27,28}; a Thompson pair of cufflinks says only ‘Base Metal’²³, and one ring’s title says gold-plated stainless steel while its material line says gold-plated sterling silver²².

Other materials are named plainly: white cubic zirconia, Swarovski crystal, mother of pearl and resin^21,24,25. Its diamonds are mostly pavé: one cufflink and stud set is titled ‘with White Diamonds’ but described as 720 black diamonds of 2.18ct in total¹⁷, and a black and white diamond set gives no carat weight¹⁸. We found no clarity grades or lab reports^17,18,19, and its gemstones page, which says it works with white, black and champagne diamonds, doesn’t mention treatments^17,18,19. A ruby bracelet carries about 14.76 ct of rubies²⁰; we found no appraisal offered^{3,4,10,17,18,20}.

The UK feed we saved lists 250 products — bracelets, cufflinks, necklaces, pins, tie clips and a few rings². On the US home page, pieces run from $290 for a leather bracelet to $4,925 for a sapphire and mother-of-pearl cufflink and stud set⁹. Rings come in S, M and L²².

Payment

The US store runs on Shopify¹². Its checkout code shows Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and JCB through Apple Pay, and PayPal⁹. US customers with a US billing and delivery address can use Klarna to pay in 4 interest-free payments every 2 weeks, or in 30 days⁸.

What customers say

Google shows a 3.4-star rating for Tateossian’s Trustpilot page, which has 19 reviews¹⁴. Its stores are only in London, so for a US buyer we score it as an online store and move the Google points to Trustpilot⁶. Its Feefo page shows 4.3 stars in Google; the one complaint visible there is about importing from the UK into the EU — ‘not a product issue but a logistical one’³⁵. We found no BBB profile and are still checking by hand.
