A report on The Real Deal said that ‘Renk and Dryer own’ the firm¹⁶, and the website of Third Street South, the Naples street where its boutique is, describes Sequin, LLC as a Manhattan-based costume-jewelry design house¹⁷. On the site, online sales are made by Sequin Internet Sales, LLC⁴, and returns go to Sequin LLC at 55 Ruta Court, South Hackensack, New Jersey⁴. The sequin-nyc.com domain dates from August 2001¹³.

Sequin says its jewelry is handmade in New York and Rhode Island¹; product pages say ‘designed & handcrafted in the USA with components from around the world’⁶. Besides its website, it sells at a boutique at 1300 Third Street South, Suite #202, in Naples, Florida^1,2.

How to reach Sequin

The contact page asks you to leave a voicemail at 646-783-6542, with a reply promised within 24–48 hours, or to email [email protected] for a faster response²; there’s also a contact form², and we found no live chat^2,5. The refund policy gives a different number, 646-783-6546, for return requests³. The Naples boutique has its own number, 239-263-1229².

Returns & exchanges

Sequin accepts unworn, undamaged or defective pieces for an exchange or refund within 15 days of delivery³; its Terms of Sale add that they must be in new condition, with all their parts, in the original packaging⁴. To start a return you contact customer service³, and you send the piece back yourself with an insured, tracked courier⁴; we found no prepaid label^3,4. Refunds go to the original payment for the merchandise amount only — shipping isn’t refunded — and take 5–7 business days to post^3,4. In the holiday season, the window extends to 45 days from delivery, without dates⁴.

Gift exchanges need a gift receipt³, and online orders can’t be refunded in Sequin’s boutiques³. Damaged deliveries should be reported to customer service right away, keeping the packaging⁴.

Shipping & delivery

Standard shipping costs $5.95, 2-Day $12.95 and Next Day $27.95⁴; the site banner offers free shipping on orders of $150 or more⁴. Most orders are ready within a day, and nothing ships on weekends or holidays⁴. Orders over $200 need a signature on delivery⁴. Outside the US, Sequin ships only to Australia and Canada⁴.

We found no mention of insurance on your order^2,3,4,5 and no policy for a parcel that goes missing^3,4,14.

Warranty & care

We found no warranty, repair, cleaning or resizing service on Sequin’s pages^{1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11}. A defective piece can come back only within the 15-day return window³, and its Terms of Use disclaim warranties on any product available on the site¹⁴. Rings come in set sizes, such as 6 to 9⁶.

What Sequin sells & what it costs

Its product feed lists 540 products (our count): necklaces, charms, bracelets, earrings and a few rings¹⁸. Prices go up to $608, and half cost $98 or less (our count)¹⁸; some pieces are marked down, such as a charm cut from $148 to $108⁷. A Create Your Own builder assembles a talisman by hand from the charms you pick¹⁵.

Sequin casts its designs in brass by lost wax and dips them in 22K gold¹; product pages say ’22K gold-plated brass’ or ‘bronze’^6,8, and we found no plating thickness^{1,4,6,7,8,9,10,11}. One charm named ‘Starry Night Clip-On Charm-Silver’ is described as bronze with crystal glass stones⁷.

Stones are named plainly: glass details and glass pearls are called glass, and lapis lazuli, agate, amazonite and freshwater pearls are named as such^6,8,9,11; its feed tags cubic zirconia pieces¹⁸ and lists no diamonds¹⁸. Its feed also sells a $28 ‘Sapphire Briolette’ birthstone charm whose material we couldn’t check¹⁸. We found no sourcing policy^{1,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11}. Sequin says its jewelry isn’t meant for children 12 or younger⁴.

Google shows Sequin’s Naples boutique at 4.6 from 10 reviews¹². We found no Trustpilot profile for sequin-nyc.com in Google results⁵, and the only BBB profile named ‘Sequin’ we saw is in Minneapolis, not accredited and not rated, and we haven’t confirmed it’s the same company¹⁹; we’re still checking both by hand. A blogger calls its materials ‘beautiful, high quality material like 22K gold and crystals’²⁰, and Sequin’s blog lists features in Oprah Daily and The Everygirl⁵.
