The website belongs to Katie Waltman LLC³, and its terms follow California law, with courts in Los Angeles County³. The katiewaltman.com domain was registered in June 2009⁶.

The jewelry is sold in the brand’s flagship store, Katie Waltman Boutique at 2108 East 1300 South in Salt Lake City, and in boutiques across the country^1,4; the home page calls it ‘handmade jewelry designed in-house’¹. The boutique also sells clothing, baby, home and skin-care goods⁷, but only the jewelry line is shipped⁴.

How to reach Katie Waltman

The main office answers at 801-981-4636 and [email protected], and the boutique at 801-981-4647^13,14; there’s also a contact form⁴. The contact page gives the boutique’s hours as Monday to Saturday, 9 AM to 7 PM¹³, while its boutique page, as Google shows it, says 10 AM to 7 PM, closed on Sunday²¹. The site has a chat button, but its greeting says that to reach a person you should email¹, so we don’t count it as live chat.

Returns & exchanges

Jewelry can be returned within 30 days of delivery, unworn and in its original packaging²; the refund policy’s summary and the FAQ both promise a full refund within 30 days^4,16. Refunds go to the original payment method once the return has been inspected². You pay shipping both ways: a prepaid return label costs $5.99, and the original shipping isn’t refunded^2,16. There are no direct exchanges — you return the piece and place a new order².

Personalized or custom items, sale or clearance items, pieces marked final sale and wholesale purchases can’t be returned²; the summary on its refund-policy page names only sunglasses and consumables¹⁶. A damaged or wrong item must be reported within 7 days of delivery, with photos².

Shipping & delivery

Orders under $100 ship for a flat $5.99, and orders over $100 ship free by standard service² — though its own page descriptions in Google say free shipping starts at $75²². Priority (2–3 business days) and Express (1–2 business days) can be chosen at checkout², and most in-stock orders leave the shop within 1 business day². It ships only within the US⁴; jewelry and everything else can also be picked up free at the Salt Lake City boutique².

We found no mention of insurance or a signature for standard shipping^2,3,4,23. An optional Package Protection, chosen in the cart, covers lost, stolen or damaged parcels^2,4, and it is final sale²; according to its page description in Google, claims go by email at least 7 days after the delivery confirmation or last tracking update²⁴. Without it, the shipping page says the store will ‘help review the situation’ if a parcel marked delivered can’t be found².

Warranty & aftercare

Katie Waltman offers no warranty: we found none on its policy, FAQ, materials or product pages^{1,2,4,5,8,9,11,12,16,17,18,19}, and its terms say the products are provided ‘as is’ and without warranties of any kind³. Broken pieces can often be repaired for less than a new one would cost, typically in 1–2 weeks: you fill in a form for a price, and shipping to and from the shop is your responsibility⁴. Its materials page warns that plating ‘is not permanent’ and wears over time⁸. We found no resizing service^2,4,8,19; for care, it suggests wiping pieces with a soft jewelry cloth after wearing⁴.

What Katie Waltman sells & what it costs

The home page shows jewelry such as a $20 freshwater pearl charm and necklaces at $78 and $98¹. Its materials page describes every metal: plated pieces have ‘a fine layer of gold or silver over a brass base’⁸, the 24kt gold and fine silver overlay line gets 20–30 microns of precious metal⁸, 14kt gold-filled pieces are solid gold pressure-bonded to brass and ‘not solid gold’⁸, and sterling silver is 92.5% silver⁸. Product pages give the base metal and finish, such as ‘Gold plate brass huggie’, but not the plating thickness^9,11,18,19. One page contradicts itself: the ‘Grace Pearl Bracelet – Gold Filled’ lists gold filled as its material but is described as a sterling silver bracelet¹².

Stones are mostly named for what they are — CZ, freshwater pearls, ‘Swarovski pearls’^11,12,18 — but the ‘Collector Necklace – Onyx’ is made of black dyed jade beads⁹, so we count stone labeling as only partly clear. Custom orders are taken through the contact form, some at extra cost⁴. It sells no diamond jewelry⁷, so diamond grading and appraisals are left out of the score, and we found no sourcing policy^{1,4,5,8,9,11,12,17,18,19}.

Payment & financing
