Our verdict
A British online jeweler, run by Pranda UK Limited since 2006, selling natural-gemstone jewelry in sterling silver and 9ct gold — with 30 days to return, a 2-year warranty and Klarna, but its pages disagree on whether US returns are free, there's no mention of shipping insurance, and no resizing or free upkeep.
Visit GemondoThe bottom line. Gemondo is run by Pranda UK Limited, a company registered in England8 that Companies House lists as active and incorporated in 19939; it dates itself to 2006, as does its domain4,10, ships from a UK warehouse to the US among other countries5, and sells only online1. It uses natural gemstones, not lab-created ones, and names treatments such as dyeing on its product pages1,11; its 9ct gold and sterling silver are described down to the alloy3, and it holds Responsible Jewellery Council certification12. You get 30 days to return13, refunds go back to your original payment method13, every piece has a 2-year warranty against manufacturing faults1,14, and checkout runs on Shopify with cards, PayPal and Klarna1,7,15. On Trustpilot it shows a TrustScore of 4.5 from 397 reviews16. It loses points because its returns page promises free tracked returns from the US while its terms say you pay to send items back13,15, shipping insurance isn’t mentioned5,6,7, it offers no resizing and no free cleaning or re-plating1,14, and its diamonds are described by weight but not quality2,17.

Gemondo describes itself as part of ‘a wider family-owned jewellery group’, and its terms name Pranda Jewelry PCL as the owner of the site’s content rights4,15. It dates itself to 2006 — ‘celebrating them with gemstones since 2006’ — and the gemondo.com domain was registered in March 20064,10; Google also shows a Gemondo Thailand site21.
Gemondo sells only online1. Its pages give several addresses: a registered office at 71 Queen Victoria Street, London8 — Companies House now has the registered office in Uxbridge9 — returns to DEVLND Limited at 195 South Liberty Lane or a PO box in Bristol8,19, and BizSpace Wimbledon in the terms15. The terms follow English law15. Google also lists a separate ‘Gemondo USA’ storefront at us.gemondo.com22; we read the terms on gemondo.com, which lists delivery and returns for the US5,13.

Returns & refunds
You can ask for a return within 30 days of receiving your order, and the returns page says this applies to international customers too13; the terms and the refund policy give the same 30 days15,18, next to the UK’s 14-day legal cancellation right15. You start a return through Gemondo’s returns portal before sending the parcel13. Pieces must be unworn and in their original condition, with the presentation box13. Refunds go to your original payment method, with processing taking up to 14 days after the parcel arrives13, and we found no restocking fee1,13,15,18. Faulty or wrong items are replaced or refunded13.
Worn earrings can’t be returned unless faulty13, and bespoke or personalised pieces — changed stones or metal, engraving — can’t be returned at all15. The refund policy adds that rings, necklaces, pendants, brooches and bracelets carry a security seal, and removing it makes the item non-refundable18. Whether the original delivery charge comes back depends on the page: the returns page says no unless the item is faulty, the FAQ says standard shipping is refunded if you return the whole order1,13. The returns page offers exchanges, while the FAQ says there are no direct exchanges — you return the piece and order again1,13.
Gemondo’s returns page lists the United States among the countries with free tracked returns, and its FAQ says the same1,13. Its terms and conditions, however, say ‘You must arrange for and pay the costs of returning the Products’15, and its refund policy puts the cost on you if you cancel after dispatch18. We score the terms that are worse for you. Before you order, ask customer service to confirm in writing that a US return will be free.

Shipping to the US
Gemondo ships from its UK warehouse to the UK, six EU countries, Australia, the US and Canada5. To the US, standard shipping costs $13.50 and expedited $27.50 on orders under $245; from $245 standard is free and expedited costs $13.50, and from $411 expedited is free too5. Delivery takes 7–10 working days standard or 2–3 working days expedited5, and orders placed before 14:00 GMT on a working day aim to leave the same day5; international couriers include Spring Global and DHL Express1. Page descriptions of its US storefront in Google mention ‘free US delivery’24.
The shipping page says prices for the countries in its tables, the US among them, include duties and taxes5, but the FAQ lists only Australia and six EU countries and says other countries may pay on delivery1. Every parcel is tracked, but a signature is mentioned only for UK deliveries5, and we found no mention of insurance on outgoing parcels5,6,7. If an international order hasn’t arrived after 21 working days, Gemondo asks you to contact it so it can open an investigation with the courier1. Its terms call delivery dates estimates15.

Warranty & aftercare
Every piece of Gemondo’s natural-gemstone jewelry has a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase14, covering broken chains, faulty earring backs and faults in the metalwork or settings14. It doesn’t cover accidental damage, wear and tear — including bent ring shanks and lost items — or gold plating that fades1,14. Repairs or replacements can take up to 10 weeks14. The warranty page asks you to insure the parcel you send in and says Gemondo isn’t responsible for items lost in transit, while the FAQ says you’ll use its free returns service1,14.
After 2 years, repairs are paid — resetting a loose stone starts at £20 in silver and £30 in gold14. The warranty page mentions a chargeable re-plating service, but the FAQ says re-plating isn’t offered and that plating typically lasts 2–3 years1,14. Gemondo doesn’t resize rings, though it can exchange one for another size if it’s in stock1, and we found no free cleaning or check-ups1,14.

What Gemondo sells & what it costs
Gemondo’s product feed is earrings, rings, pendants, necklaces, bracelets and brooches25. The UK site showed our server its prices in pounds: a typical piece in the feed costs £105, and the most expensive £5652,25; its terms say prices are stated in pounds sterling15. It says it uses natural gemstones, not synthetic or lab-created ones, and that some are treated1,12; product pages list each stone’s weight, cut and country of origin2, say ‘Natural Opal’ or ‘Natural Mined Stone’26,27, and name treatments such as a ‘Dyed Green Chalcedony’11. Gemondo grades its gems with its own system12.
The diamonds we saw are small accents: a sapphire cluster ring, for example, has a 7.00ct sapphire and 24 diamonds totalling 0.12ct17. Product pages give the diamonds’ weight but not their colour or clarity2,17; its buying guide says its diamonds range from ‘Very Very Slight’ to cheaper ‘Included’ stones, mostly used to decorate larger gemstone pieces, and that all of them are conflict-free28. Gemondo aims to include a certificate of authenticity from its supplier with every piece1; we found no appraisal1,2,11,14,17,26,27,28,29,30,31,32.
Metals are described in detail: 9ct gold is 37.5% gold alloyed with silver, zinc and copper, and sterling silver is 92.5% silver with copper and zinc3. Vermeil has 2.5 microns of gold over silver according to the metal guide, 3 according to the FAQ1,3. The FAQ also says plated pieces use 9ct gold, while product names say ’18ct Gold Plated’1,25, and we found no plating thickness for that range, which it says it is phasing out1,25. Pieces are hallmarked by the Sheffield Assay Office4, and Gemondo holds Responsible Jewellery Council certification for its gold, platinum and diamond sourcing12. Rings come in up to 20 sizes1.

What customers say
Gemondo sells only online, so its Google points are scored on Trustpilot1, where Google results show a TrustScore of 4.5 from 397 reviews, and other snippets a ‘4-star rating’16 — enough for part of the Trustpilot points, but not the top tier, which needs more reviews. Its eBay store shows 99.6% positive feedback and 29K items sold34. The only complaint we found was a buyer on the OnBuy marketplace who says a return request was ignored35. We’re still checking the BBB by hand.
